High Wire show from 10 minutes to 20 minutes depending on physical space and budget. Performed in a Pirate style as 'Captain Jack'. This show can also be performed in a straight style and (from Jan 2013) as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.
This show is suitable for larger venues with plenty of height, show arenas, circus tents, festivals and exhibition centres.
We have had fantastic feedback about Captain Jack on the High Wire. Please enquire with us about this show and whether it may be suitable for your venue or event.
Ashley first performed the high wire when he was in his teens with performances around Australia. Highlights included performances at the Melbourne Moomba festival suspended 35m above the Yarra river, and a world record at the 1st Adelaide Grand Prix in 1985 on a 20m high wire walking 11.5km in 3 hours 30 minutes.
Ashley can also perform Skywalking which is a term to describe very high single span walks outdoors such as across rivers or in stadiums.
Our main style is as Captain Jack which works great in shows or stand alone. Another style is The Blues Brothers. If looking at other styles we love a challenge. From January 2013 the highwire can also be performed as The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.
All the specs are different depending on the venue and the height of the wire. Below is a basic guide and with the exception of setting up in a large outdoor space such as a Show Arena a site inspection is necessary.
Inside buildings such as entertainment or convention centres it may be possible to rig using existing structure.
Light weight towers:
Our light weight high wire towers can stand from 4.5 m to 9m high and we need to allow room for side guy wires, performance wire between two towers of between 6 to 9m and front and back inline cables which can go as far as 20m from towers to anchor points. Overall length can be from 25 to 50m.
Can be configured as two 10.5m towers or as one 20.5m tower for incline walks. These towers are used mostly for outdoors events such as show arena and festivals and “skywalks” above rivers etc. Length can be up to 100m.
The slideshow below shows pictures of the High Wire which can be performed as an act or a longer show.
